10 years ago, Connie Mendell responded to the needs of her catering customers
by expanding the business to include "The Linen Shop at Occasions
Catering". It began in her sewing room but moved several times as
the business grew, and ended up in the current location in the center
of Rochester. Her once small sideline now offers an impressive selection
of specialty linens. The Linen Shop serves a loyal following of caterers,
florists, rental companies and inns throughout New England.
Our customers choose from an extraordinary variety of colors and prints including many textured fabrics, sheer organza overlays and embroidered cloths. We can make your event memorable by dressing your tables with care and taste, combining solid and gala prints in tablecloths, overlays and napkins. The Linen Shop has romantic florals and laces, sophisticated prints and bold colors available for our customers to express themselves and create a day they will remember. Our shelves are full, but custom orders help us add to the inventory and are always welcome.
We have access to many different fabric sources and have seamstresses available to sew a prototype for your approval. After years in the linen industry, we understand how important it is to find the perfect color shade. If you have an exact color in mind, we’ll find it for you. Coordinating a print or color combination to match your flowers, favors and bridesmaid dresses is our specialty.
Our staff would be happy to send you a free linen estimate before you agree to the rental. We can mail you color samples, but we highly recommend a visit to our showroom where you can “play” with different combinations of linens and watch your ideas come to life! Each cloth is pressed by hand and delivered on hangers ready to grace your table. The delivery fee is determined by your location and ranges from $55 to $130, however feel free to pick them up to eliminate the charges. For an additional fee, same day delivery can be arranged and we will set up your tables.
