Why Occasions

Your Wedding?
So you're tyin' the knot? Great, we’ll see you there. But before we go, there are some things you need to think about –just a few. Really. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but relax. Don’t forget to have fun; we’ll help with the details.
Our free consultation will cover a lot of these details, but there are a few questions we’d like you to answer, a few steps we suggest that smooth things out.

Pick a mood
Develop your vision. Choose your colors. If, for example, you’re wearing a designer dress, you want ivory roses and candles on every table and you’ve rented a historical Vermont location, you’re probably leaning in the formal direction. If, on the other hand, you’re wearing your grandmother’s antique dress, hanging multicolored paper lanterns from the trees by the pond and planning a pot-luck desert course, your gathering will have a more casual feel. Decide on an atmosphere you want to create, a feeling you’d like to remember and the following decisions will be easier.

Think food - Let’s do this in order.

Cocktail hour. Don't feel pressure to decide now, wait to see our extensive list of suggestions in our wedding information packet sent through the US mail. E-mail us to request further information.

The meal. If you're overwhelmed, we can provide a menu; click to see samples.

Dessert. Wedding cake is traditional, but it’s not the only option. How about a pie buffet? Ice cream cake, pumpkin mousse, baked apples, cheesecake, crème Brule, fruit tarts, chocolate in almost any form –the choices are endless.

All that other stuff
You know you need to pick colors, send invitations, arrange a seating chart and “all that other stuff.” There may be some things you haven’t thought of, or some things for which you don’t know where to turn.

Linens
The tablecloths and napkins you choose to put on your tables will be a big part of your chosen mood. They can display your personality or accent your flowers and other decorations.
